Pastor Dawn R. Brown
Pastor Dawn R. Brown was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, where she received both primary and secondary academic preparation in the public school system. A graduate of Geneva College located in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communications and a minor in Business Administration in 1986. She matriculated at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in February 1988.
Pastor Brown received her "Calling" to preach the Gospel in June 1983 and was licensed to do so at the New Light Beulah Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend T.C. Killerbrew on August 23, 1983. After much prayer and conviction she moved her membership to Consolation Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Alden A. Gaines in December 1986. While serving there, she worked with the Youth Ministry, taught Sunday School, and functioned as Coordinator of the Missionaries.
Pastor Brown has also served at the New Comfort Baptist Church, where her friend and mentor the Reverend Dr. T. E. Kilgoe was pastor and founder. Ordained on April 17, 1994, Reverend Brown functioned as Assistant Pastor, Minister of Education, Coordinator of Youth Ministry and Kilgoe's Youth & Young Adult Choir, and youth bible study for Tuesday Night Live
On August 16, 1998, Pastor Brown founded the Cathedral of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church. On April 28, 2005, the church made acquisition of a building located in Pennsville, New Jersey. Pastor Brown is also the CEO of The Cathedral Community Development Corporation. She and her congregation have been a part of the Ruwach United Fellowship Conference for the past five years. In addition, she is also the administrative coordinator for the Ruwach Women's Conference.
Pastor Brown is thankful to Jesus Christ who counted her faithful, by putting her in the ministry, but she is even more thankful for her family ministry. She is proud to be the wife of a strong, secure, and supportive husband, Scott Brown. She is also both honored and delighted to be the mother and stepmother, to Ryan, Jessica, and Bryant. Lastly, always appreciative and full of admiration, Pastor Brown wishes to acknowledge her mother, Nurma Singleton, who against the odds consciously and consistently encouraged her daughter to be the best at whatever God's call was for her life. She has always told her, "If you can take it, you can make it".
