Bishop James D. Robinson, Sr.

Whether speaking at a revival, conducting a seminar or leading a community outreach program, Bishop James Darrell, Robinson, Sr. has dedicated his life to the ministry and serving others. Bishop Robinson made this commitment to souls in July of 1975. It was a Saturday afternoon upon praying for hours when he received the call to preach. As a young man, an earnest spirit was instilled which has kept him steadfast on the faithful path the Master would have him follow.

Bishop Robinson took his first trip abroad to minister on the islands of Jamaica and Bermuda. He continued to evangelize by conducting revivals across the country, under the supervision of Bishop Robert T. Robinson. He was led to become Pastor of the Federalsburg Maryland Revival Temple for 3 years. He returned to Philadelphia in 1986 to pastor the Philadelphia Revival Temple Church where he remained for 12 years. During this pastorate with the Philadelphia Revival Temple Church he was inspired to form The Ruwach United Fellowship, Inc. Ruwach means “the wind of God, or the breath of God.” This organization was formed on the basis that independent churches should unite, dependent on God’s divine leadership and soul winning ministries.

In 1998 Bishop Robinson was inspired by God through Psalms 27, “the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear,” to establish Yesha Ministries. Yesha is Hebrew for “salvation.” This evangelical ministry was founded with the sole purpose of winning and building souls for the Lord Jesus Christ, through witnessing and proclaiming the unadulterated word of God.

In 1999, Bishop Robinson was consecrated a Bishop. Bishop Robinson teaches that the sacred office of Bishop is merely a position of servant-hood. According to Bishop Robinson, all things in the life of a Bishop should reflect the preeminence in Jesus Christ. This calling is neither for the fainthearted nor for those with shallow commitment, but it demands the putting away of pride and humbly submit to the needs of others. The office of Bishop must be one of humility, dismissing any temptation to carnal desires, and therefore being servants of God and for His people.

Bishop Robinson majored in Religion at Temple University and later received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from The National Theological Seminary and College in Baltimore, Maryland. On March 26, 2000 he received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from The Springfield Christian College/Logos Graduate School.

Added to his great accomplishments and involvement, Bishop Robinson was recently a part of The Party for Peace Celebrity Weekend that was held in Philadelphia, PA. The purpose of the event was to tackle the major problem of youth violence. Various celebrities participated at the events throughout the weekend. Bishop Robinson prayed at the celebrity basketball game and presented an award to the host of the event.

Bishop Robinson has three children (James Darrell, Jr., Tiffany and Justin) who he loves dearly.

Bishop Robinson’s accomplishments have humbled him even more. He understands that God has given him this testimony and to God be the glory for the things that he has done.
